About the Los Angeles LGBT Center
Since 1969 the Los Angeles LGBT Center has cared for, championed and celebrated LGBT individuals and families in Los Angeles and beyond. Today the Center's nearly 700 employees provide services for more LGBT people than any other organization in the world, offering programs, services and global advocacy that span four broad categories: Health, Social Services and Housing, Culture and Education, Leadership and Advocacy. The Center is an unstoppable force in the fight against bigotry and the struggle to build a better world; a world in which LGBT people can be healthy, equal and complete members of society. About the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Youth Programs & Services

On any given day there are thousands of youth (ages 24 and younger) living on the streets of Los Angeles; a staggering 40% of them in Hollywood—one of the most popular destinations for youth experiencing homelessness—are LGBT. The Center’s Youth Center—open 7 days a week—offers a place to stay for a night or up to 30 nights; 3 meals/day; clothing; support groups; a charter high school, GED and college prep program; an employment preparation, training and placement program; and whatever support youth need to get off the streets. The Center also offers medical care, counseling, a 24-bed Transitional Living Program (TLP) where youth can stay for up to 18 months, and even affordable apartments for the youth who graduate from the TLP. More than 90% of youth exiting the TLP have secured stable housing, and employment and/or scholarships to post-secondary institutions that enable them to live independently.

There is nothing worse in the world than to feel invisible. LGBT youth are struggling with depression, bullying, and suicide at alarmingly high rates because of the lack of physical, social, and/or emotional support in their lives.

When creating Bearded Top, I wanted to make a positive impact in and around my community—to ensure that our youth are not unnoticed.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center offers hope, empowerment, and life-saving services to LGBT youth. This is why I am partnering with the organization to create The Bearded Top + Los Angeles LGBT Center Set. For every set sold, I will donate one essential self-care kit to the Center’s youth to give them the confidence they need to go out and make their mark in the world.
